A Note from the Pastor
The mission statement of Bread of Life is this: “To minister to aging adults, children and families
by providing a nutritious meal; to share the love of Jesus Christ and take action against hunger in
our community”. We understand that seniors, in particular, may not be cooking as much, or getting
the nutrition they need. Maybe you are a single parent and have a financial burden, maybe you are a
widow(er), maybe you just need a break. We are here to serve you, and welcome you to our church
family!
We will be serving dinner every Wednesday night in the Broadus Worship Center (the gym) to
anyone who is able to come. We will start serving at 5:30 and stop serving around 6:15. You are
invited to stay for the 7pm bible study!
“And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your
God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed”.
Joel 2:26
Ruth's Garden is located at and maintained by Broadus Baptist Church. Once the
produce is harvested, it will be distributed throughout the community, free of charge.
The purpose of Ruth's garden is to teach anyone who wishes to volunteer how to live
off the land, at the same time teaching them about being a cheerful giver. ( So let each
one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a
cheerful giver. 2 Cor. 9:7)

Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Lord Jesus;

This is the verse that I opened the Bible upon and my eyes fell on it. Job 37:13; (We will deal with this in preaching but this
will get you to begin thinking) He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for His land or for mercy.”

What does He (God) cause to come? Well, the previous verses tell us; lightening, thunder, small rain, great rain, snow, the
whirlwind (Tornado) cold, frost, clouds. He causes these things to come to us-humanity. Why would God cause the weather to
be so severe against humanity? He gives three reasons: #1 to correct us, #2 to help the land or #3 because of our cry for mercy.
Why does humanity need to be corrected? Obviously for the gross sin in many peoples’ lives that they don’t recognize or believe
that it’s wrong to do. Until recognition comes (conviction), the weather will get worse and worse. Is there sinfulness in your
life? No acts of sin? What about the nature He’s trying to convict you of?

The land cries out for water and sunshine (life). Without these, famine comes, crops and livestock suffer, prices go up and
yet we don’t cry out so He can give us #3-mercy!

Question! Are you a contributing part of all this because of any lack of commitment to Him in ANY area? If so, repent,
confess it and ask to be forgiven and for Him to protect you and your and your belongings through weather issues. I promise you
He definitely controls it. Not the Weather Channel or channel 3, 9, 18 or 36! See you at His House!

                                                                                                                              I love you
